Crazy Days

So the last few weeks have been quite busy around our house. As I speak we are under a winter weather advisory, but in the past two weeks we have been able to enjoy some warmer weather. We are proud to say that Tim has been accepted into the graduate program at Concordia Mequon! He will be starting classes on March 2nd. He is going to be taking classes in the education technology field. In fact his first class is all on line and the funny part is that he's in the class with my Mom and Dad! It just ended up being that way and no one even knew it until the other night!
Emma has been keeping us on our toes. These days we are staying very busy taking her from one doctor to another. On Tuesday of this past week she went in for a routine eye exam and he found a problem. She's displaying symptoms of glaucoma. He seems to think this is due to the steroids that she's been on to treat her asthma symptoms. Needless to say at our allergist appointment the next day we had her taken off of any and all steroids. That afternoon, she decided to swallow a penny during nap time at daycare. She's had one left in her pocket from being at the doctor's in the morning! On Friday, Emma woke up and was unable to open her one eye! This was due to pink eye in both of her eyes! We were able to do another pressure test on her eyes that day and the pressure has decrease, but is still elevated. So, we will be heading up to Children's Hospital soon to see a pediatric opthamologist!
Lucas has been VERY busy, never sitting still! He likes to crawl, climb, and get into whatever he can. He also has been keeping us busy with doctor appointments. He is on ear infection #5 since October! We've also found that augmentin and Lucas on an empty stomach do not agree. He has his nine month appointment this next week, so we'll get to learn more about how he's grown lately! We have been advised by more than one doctor to take him to see an ENT to get his ear evaluated, so we'll be doing that soon. On the fun side, we have decided that his first word is"YEAH!" He loves to say this with clapping hands, even with a fever of 103.2!
I have been keeping busy between the kids and trying to get to my students basketball games. We haven't made too many this year, but that's how life goes. I've started back on weight watchers in the hopes to really work at losing some of this extra weight. It's been a very hard week to start, but I figure it can only go up from here!
I've added some updated pictures of the kids to show what we've been up to lately.

Winter in Wisconsin

So we are just continuing to move along in life here in Wisconsin. The kids have been fighting off every illness known to man it seems like these days. Lucas has had the stomach flu for the second time this past week. Emma has been spending a lot of time with her nebulizer machine. Her asthma symptoms have been flaring up here and there causing sleepless nights and crazy kid days. Even with being sick, both kids are loving life and just keep on going.

Lucas is now crawling on hands and knees and is abandoning the army crawl. He also is getting used to putting himself to sleep at night, not really wanting to rock as much. He loves feeding himself real food more than he loves baby food.

Emma came home from school last week talking about baptism. She told us where it happened and all about the water and the Word. It's been so neat to listen to her as she continues to grow not only in her academics, but also in her faith. She frequently tells people about how Jesus is in her heart and He loves her and everyone else. She talks about all the things that God has made. The faith of a child is truly amazing!

Tim and I have been very busy with school, open houses, grades being due, and going to basketball games. Tim's been working hard on his graduate program application and hopes to get it done soon so that he can get that application in the mail.

Enjoy a few pictures that Tim's been taking of the kids. He had been saving his Christmas money for years to buy his new camera. He loves it and it takes really great pics!

Here's Emma doing her "Duck Mask." This happens every morning and night right now!

Lucas enjoying his first taste of whip cream.

Aren't I cute!
